Lest we forget that England is a foreign country

Every day I try to read the New York Times and the BBC News. This morning I was looking at the list of most e-mailed articles and noticed a discrepancy in the type of articles Americans and Brits value. Here are the lists:

New York Times

  1. As More Toys Are Recalled, Trail Ends in China
  2. In the Classroom, a New Focus on Quieting the Mind
  3. Autism Debate Strains a Family and Its Charity
  4. Thomas the Tank Engine Toys Recalled Because of Lead Paint
  5. Editorial Observer: Millions of Missing Birds, Vanishing in Plain Sight
BBC News

1. Flushed bra causes sewer collapse
2. Vertical farming in the big Apple
3. Woman jailed for testicle attack
4. Day in pictures
5. Family escapes 'suspicious' blaze
